"Wind extinguishes a candle and energizes fire. Likewise with randomness, uncertainty, chaos: you want to use them, not hide from them. You want to be the fire and wish for the wind."
~Nassim Taleb, from Antifragile
Antifragile Training is dedicated to challenging our firearms, combative, self defense, home defense, and all other aspects of a complete robust skill set with realistic pressure.
To further those ends this site will promote courses from top tier instructors, reference material from the big brain T-Rex's in our midst, and provide a newsletter for training updates and opportunities.
Thus the basic mindset is this: Throw down. We want to be challenged. If we lose, we want to know how you beat us, so we can improve. We grow stronger through adversity. We strive to be Antifragile.
Two living examples of this principle that are easy to access are competition shooting sports such as USPSA and combat sports such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ).
Ask any BJJ practitioner about how they improve and that story will likely rely on two cornerstones: getting crushed by better, stronger, bigger, meaner opponents, and DOING THE WORK.
Likewise ask the competition shooter how they feel about being challenged, how hard shots effect their game, ask about pushing until the wheels fall off. Ask about DOING THE WORK.
The Antifragile gains from being challenged, it grows stronger through adversity. Not merely robust, or simply trying to stay sound in the storm, the Antifragile is fire and wishes for the wind.
